Records for 2833 29 Street SW

The residents for 2833 29st SW are unknown from 1912 when the home was built to1915; however, records show that Joseph Smith, a black smith at Canada Pacific Railway lived in this small little home for 28 years. For many decades the area was underdeveloped as is evident in the aerial photograph of location taken in 1924.

Joseph Smith retired sometime in between 1930 and 1940 and in 1943 the home was occupied by Samuel Hewitt and John S. Hewitt the following year. It is unclear if this is the same person, or family member.

Between 1948 and 1953 the house was occupied by Mr & Mrs. George Frey.

More recently the home was occupied by interior designer and owner of Kaffa Coffee, a well known community hub in Marda Loop, and in 2010 the house was purchased by a young professional couple S & C Crawford – who plan to reside in the home for years to come.
