2317 Morrison Street Southwest, Calgary

Year of Construction: 1912

This Morrison St. home sits near where the “Willis Sanitarium” stood, on 10 acres all alone atop “American Hill”. It housed TB patients, but mainly was a convalescent home. Dr. Willis died suddenly in a bicycle accident going down the hill, and his widow sold the property to its manager, Richard L.Morrison. These lots have a different configuration than the rest of Mount Royal due to the old Sanitarium and subsequent zoning.
