Year of Construction: 1914

I signed up last year for the 2012 celebration and served as a volunteer for the Killarney, Glengarry, Richmond Park – Knob Hill, and Shaganappi areas; My home is a simple bungalow, which was the resident of John Hooper Ford, the business manager of Calgary Newspapers: The Nutcracker, and Alberta Non-Partisan. John Ford was a close friend of William Irvine, who was an editor of the newspapers, and known as a social radical. Together they rallied for the grain growers of Alberta and promoted women’s rights through Louise McKinney (of the Famous Five) who eventually held a seat in Parliament.
