1443 19 Avenue Southwest, Calgary

Well, it’s a 1925 Craftsman with the ORIGINAL BOILER- and not on the shelf either; it’s a coal gravity boiler that was retrofitted for gas some decades ago, and it’s our source of central heat. This fact alone makes it historically… unusual! We don’t know much about its history and searching the city archives turns up nothing but this was clearly on a lot that was subdivided from 1447 next door (their “century home” photo on their banner next year clearly shows an shed on this lot); the bizarre 60’x85′ configuration for our lot is also unique for the inner city and another thing about the property that’s special. A 1920s infill, Plan-It from 90 years ago.
