1021 17 Avenue Southeast, Calgary

Year of Construction: 1907 (may need to correct, can't recall!)

Our 106 year-old home is one of four in a row built from the same plan, amongst others in Ramsay. The unsubstantiated rumor is that the CPR built these houses for employees, which I like to imagine is true, since trains, and the CPR, is in my family’s blood. I hope to discover more this year.

The house is a grand ~700 sq ft, complete with original foundation and dirt basement with remnants of the coal chute. Looking around down there is like a mini archeological experience. The floors are rather hilly, but deemed safe. Best neighborhood in YYC!
